STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT
Absorbent Mind (0-3 Years)
The child learns from his enviornment by seeing and
hearing things from their sorroundings.
It is suggested to have a suitable enviornment for the
child so they can have a good impression on life at an
early stage.
CONSCIOUS ABSORBENT MIND (3-6 YEARS)
The child becomes aware of the adult
influence. Their hands become a great
learning tool and should start social
development during these ages.
The child also start to want the company
of other children and want to be
separated from the mother for short
periods of time.
LATER CHILDHOOD (6-12 YEARS)
The child starts to become self
conscious and is aware of the
difference between right and wrong.
They start start to use all five senses
to learn.
PUBERTY (6-12 YEARS)
Puberty means the end of childhood and
physical changes in the child become
obvious, and also start to become
sensitive to their self.
At this change the child needs complete
emotional support from the parents.
ADOLESCENCE (12-18 YEARS)
The child is converting into adulthood and
have a desire to explore the world.
This is marked with rebellion, doubt,
attitude, and hesitation.
MONTESSORI AND PIAGET
Maria Montessori and Jean Piaget both
proposed children develop in sequence.
However they disagreed on timing.
Piaget believed children did not reach their
concrete operational stage until the age of
seven
Montessori believed children should start
learning how to use the senses at a very
young age.
