T T.M.S.S. January Newsletter 2016 Principal’s Message With the arrival of a new year, comes the conclusion of term 2 and for our Sr. students, semester 1. At such a turn, one cannot help but to stop and take stalk of the school year thus far. Upon such reflection, I cannot begin to express the incredible amount of pride I have about our school. The culture of our building continues to be positive and upbeat, which is resulting in an increase commitment and devotion to attendance, academics and athletics. Thank you to everyone who supported the dinner by bringing food items and money. All left overs were donated to the Salvation Army Christmas Hampers. Thank you to the SCC for donating the drinks and to the Bromm Family for donating a turkey and a ham for the lunch. This year, we have 17 curlers participating. The curlers have been practicing after school and have started league play. Tisdale is hosting games on December 8, January 5 and February 2. The curlers will travel to Melfort, Nipawin and Bjorkdale for other league games. These games will help us get prepared for NESSAC which takes place Feb 5/6 in Tisdale. Grace is a kind, quiet, and patient person. She works hard at school, always challenges herself to think more deeply, and to see the other side of issues. Grace has recently earned a role in our upcoming middle year’s drama production as one of the goddesses. We are looking forward to a great performance from Grace in drama, and a great rest of her academic year in grade six! Congratulations Grace! The grade 7 shout out goes to Ashley Kidney. Ashley has a positive attitude, and is enthusiastic in her learning, listening, and reading. She consistently gets her work completed on time, and asks for work ahead of time if she knows she will be absent. She is a great example of choosing to learn, and taking responsibility. Congratulations, Ashley! The grade 8 December shout out goes to Brock Cresswell. Brock continues to work diligently at his assignments and takes care to make sure they are accurate and completed on time. Brock is actively engages in his assignments and helps others to complete assigned tasks. Great work Brock! The grade 9 December shout out goes to Wesley Brabant. Wesley is an enthusiastic, cheerful student who has fit in well here at TMSS and already wellknown by many students and staff. He always has a smile on his face and is a positive asset to the TMSS student body. The grade 10 shout-out goes to Shawnti Gratton. She has shown a remarkable ability in class in her response and application of feedback in her daily work. Shawnti often asks questions if she does not fully understand the mechanics of what we are doing in order to continue to improve her knowledge in physical literacy. Keep up the good work Shawnti! The grade 11 shout out goes to Karter Lucas. Karter shows enthusiasm and a willingness to try challenging things in class. Karter actively takes part in class discussions and he makes sure everyone is included. Keep up the good work Karter! Congratulations Kendra Thomas for receiving the grade 12 Dec. shout out. Kendra is working hard to get her classes done to achieve her goal of attending university. Keep it up Kendra! Thanks to their generosity, they were able to buy eight Christmas gifts for others their age. Thank you!
