Student Learning Support Math Support Math Support Online Appointments Adobe Connect Instructions for Students 1. Before you start your online appointment, make sure that your internet connection is strong and your system has all the required items and add-ins. Please test and install Adobe Connect required add-ins on your computer system. 2. In addition, ensure your computer has a working microphone and speakers, either built in or hooked up to your computer, although communication through chat is also possible. 3. Your appointment begins at 10 minutes after the hour (e.g., a 7:00 PM appointment begins at 7:10 PM). Nevertheless, you may log in to the Adobe Connect meeting on the hour to get familiarized with the meeting environment and prepare yourself in advance. 4. To enter your meeting room, please visit the SLS Math Support Adobe Connect Room. 5. You may enter the room as a guest or as a registered user with your Ryerson credential (preferred). Once you click the Enter Room button, a new window will open with the message “This is a private meeting. Your request to enter has been sent to the host. Please wait for a response.” 6. Once your request has been accepted by the host, a new browser window will open with the Adobe Connect dashboard. Click on the ‘Meeting’ drop-down menu and select ‘Audio setup wizard…’ and follow the instructions to ensure your computer’s audio is configured. 7. When the Math Facilitator is ready to begin the appointment, they will send you a request to share your screen or will ask you to share your documents. 8. You will have the option to share a document, your entire desktop, or just a particular application that is already open (e.g., MS Word, Acrobat Reader, Paint) from Share pod. The microphone should be enabled, but you also have option to text chat. The use of the webcam is not recommended for appointments.
