Enzymatic details of the major catabolic pathway for propionyl CoA and methylmalonyl CoA. Succinyl CoA has several metabolic fates, including oxidation
through the tricarboxylic acid cycle and condensation with glycine to form δ-aminolevulinic acid. Two coenzymes act in the reaction sequence: biotin, in the
carboxylation of propionyl CoA, and adenosylcobalamin (AdoCbl), in the isomerization of methylmalonyl CoA to succinyl CoA.
