Note:
We learn by constructing our own understandings based upon our experiences, which are unique and
thereby make our understandings unique . New information that we receive is compared to what we
know from our experiences: what we learn is affected by what we already know. We apply what we
know to a new situation: if new information does not fit with what we know, we may have to adjust how
we think about the initial information and find where misconceptions occurred.
