Plants, animals, and people cannot live without the sun. Without the heat from the sun, Earth would be too cold to live on. They make their food by mixing the sun’s energy with water, air, and nutrients. They eat plants that have stored food made from the sun’s energy. Some calculators have a small panel that can trap the sun’s light. They can store the sun’s light. They use the sun’s light to make the calculator work. This calculator traps the sun’s light during the day. 12 13 Using the Sun’s Heat Some people use energy from the sun to heat the water in their homes. They put a solar panel on their roof.
