General News:
Wow, what a week we have all had. The Pre-school children had a lovely graduation ceremony on Wednesday for
the children going off to school. They looked so lovely in their mortar boards receiving their certificates and teddy
bears. We wish them all a lovely summer and good luck at their new school in September. Please come back and
visit and let us know how you’re getting on.
The weather has been wonderful and we have really enjoyed being in the garden with lots of fun activities going on.
The quote/word/event of the week:
Tyler in the Toddler room has become a big brother this week.
He said to us “Cody cries, but Tyler cuddles Cody when he cries”
Isaac in Pre-school – he was using his knife and fork to cut up his lunch. He told Sharon “my mummy will be very
impressed with me”.

on it.
Educational programme for next week
Babbling Babies: ‘Ready, steady, Go!” We will be zipping down the slide this week both indoors and out. We will be
encouraging the children to say ‘GO’. Whilst at the top of the slide the member of staff will say… ‘Ready, Steady…’
and then wait for the child to make a noise or say go. They will then come down the slide with a big ‘weeeeee’. The
member of staff will be offering explanation to this the entire time i.e. ‘We are going to go down the slide, here we
go: Ready, Steady… GO!

Educational programme for next week:
Toddler Talk: ‘eye contact”. Get down to a child’s level when they begin to start a ‘conversation’ with you.
Encourage the child to keep eye contact while they are telling you something. For example if you are talking about
cars, keep the flow of conversation going by encouraging eye contact and saying things like ‘Does mummy drive a
car?’ ‘There are lots of cars aren’t there’. Use positive language and keep regular eye contact with the child.

the teddy to ‘whisper’ into your ear. As the toy whispers, you repeat the sound. You can make mistakes and see if a
child will correct you. For example ‘What do you like teddy?’ (allow teddy to whisper) ‘you want to eat come seese?’.
A child may correct you saying ‘No cheese!’

ai - tune: Camptown races
my ear hurt, I was in pain, ai?, ai?
