Rules & Regulations
1.
This art show and sale is open to all artists within the Tri-State Community.
2.
There is no fee to enter. Models and Artists do not need tickets to enter.
3.
The show will include a limited number of pieces. The Mardi Bras Planning Committee
reserves the right to refuse entry to items that may be viewed as profane or offensive.
4.
The show is juried, and a prize package including The Golden Cup will be awarded to the
top piece.
5.
The pieces will be sold the day of show. Artists will determine the price, with the
proceeds split 50/50 with the AIDS Resource Group of Evansville (ARG). If a piece
does not sell, it remains the property of the artist.
6.
Artists will be responsible for obtaining their own models. They should obtain the model
and know her size prior to creating the piece to ensure proper fit. If an artist is not able to
find a model, the Mardi Bras Planning Committee will maintain a list of individuals who
have expressed an interest in modeling for the show. We will provide the artist with the
name of someone, and it is the artist’s responsibility to contact that individual and
arrange to meet. The artist should notify Wendy Turner-Frey ([email protected]) of the
name of the model by January 1, 2014 or indicate that she or he would like help in
finding a model.

The application deadline is January 1, 2014.

The completed bra should be ready for photographs by January 1, 2014. Models do not
need to be present for these photographs.
9.
On the day of the event, please bring a “beautician-type” cape for your model to wear in
the event she must leave the dressing room prior to the show.

Artist Contract
I _____________________ am committing to participate in the fundraising event, Mardi Bras
2014 which will take place February 8, 2014. By submitting my application, I agree to produce a
piece of art for the show that is a wearable brassiere or bustier. This item will be worn by a
model during the style show. I agree to obtain said model and ensure that the piece fits my
model properly. I agree to abide by all deadlines outlined in the Artists’ Information Packet. I
understand that the piece will be sold on the day of the event. I will determine the price for my
piece, and the money from the sale of the item will be divided 50/50 with the AIDS Resource
Group of Evansville. If the piece does not sell at the event, it remains my personal property to
do with as I wish. I understand that the piece must be in good taste and that the Mardi Bras
Planning Committee reserves the right to refuse entrance to items that may be viewed as
offensive.
