A) TEAM COMPOSITION
1 There will be four players per team. Competition structure will be mixed structure, with games
in the following combinations 1+2, 3+4, 1+3, 2+4, 1+4, 2+3
2 Players (including reserves) may not play for more that one team in the competition
3 This is an open grade competition

CONTESTS
Normal rules of tennis apply.
Each match will be the first to 6 games won with a tie break played at 5 all.
Second deuce rule. A sudden death point will be played on the second deuce of any game.
The receiving pair will decide which player receives serve.
Contests must be played as per the contest schedule.
Team Defaults – if a team defaults any match, that team will be liable to pay a total of $50.00
for each default.
Late Arrival – teams not on court at the schedule start of play will be penalized 1 game for each
5 minutes they are late. If more that 15 minutes late, they lose that match. Next match to
start 30 minutes after the scheduled start time.
All teams will have at least 7 matches.
C) COMPETITION POINTS
1 One point shall be awarded for each match won and one further point shall be awarded to the
winning team. If matches are even i.e. 4-4, teams will receive a half point each.
2 If contest is 2 matches all, games will be counted to determine the winning team.
3 If matches and games won are the same, total points will be shared i.e. 2 ½ points each.
4 If teams are tied at the end of the competition, then a count back of games won will determine
the winner.
C) GENERAL
1 Supply of balls – One pair of new Technifibre first grade balls will be provided per match.
2 Playing attire – each player must wear recognised tennis footwear at all times (non-marking
tennis shoes must be worn).
3 Result Sheets – To be picked up on the night from the Ngatitoa Tennis Clubrooms and returned
to the clubrooms at the completion of the match. Result Sheets are to be completed in full and
signed by both teams.
4 Draws and results will be on display at Ngatitoa Tennis Club and on the Ngatitoa website.
5 In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Ngatitoa Tennis Club disputes committee will be
final.
