Application Method

Eligibility:
UM Sports Teams in the academic year 2016-2017 (i.e. the teams stated below)
Recommended by respective Team Coach and Team Manager
Teams which are eligible to apply for 2016-2017

Men’s Volleyball Team

Table Tennis Team
Taekwondo Team

Track and Field Team

Application Procedure:
1)
Recommended UM Sports Teams may download the related application form at
(http://sports.osa.umac.mo/).
2)
After the Captains of the UM Sports Teams have filled in the application form:
a) Please email the completed softcopy of application, related documents and photos to Office
of Sports Affairs (OSA) :
b)
c)

[email protected], AND
Submit the completed application form personally to OSA before the deadline
(Address: Room 1017, 1st Floor, N8 UM Sports Complex)
The application form must be printed, hand-writing will not be accepted.
Application Deadline: 24 April 2017 (Supporting documents and results of those competitions
happens from 24 to 30 April 2017 must be submitted on or before 2 May 2017. Results of
competitions finish after 30 April 2017 will be counted on the following academic year)

Process of Award
1)
All received application forms will be submitted to “Working Group on Calculation of Score for
Sports Awards” for evaluation and score calculation procedure. The Working Group will
calculate the score according to the Scoring Criteria below.
2)
After the above procedure is completed, the awards will be presented to the awardees on 6 May
2017 (tentative) at the “2016/2017 UM Student Awards Presentation Ceremony”.
Award Method

The team with the highest score will be the 2016-2017 “Best UM Sports Team – Team Sports”. The
team will be awarded with prize, certificates and trophy.

The team with the highest score will be the 2016-2017 “Best UM Sports Team – Individual Sports”.
The team will be awarded with prize, certificates and trophy.
Scoring Criteria
The scoring criteria are based on a full mark of 105 point. The allocation of points is as follows:
(The competition results are considered from May 2016 to the end of April 2017)

# 75 points →
Base on the team’s sports achievement
(the following competition information declared must be from those competitions
which the team represented UM to attend)
 30 points out of 70 points →
Representing UM to achieve top 8 positions in competitions
equivalent to National level or above; friendly matches or
invitational competitions are not counted.
(only counting 1 best result according to the categories of which
the team belonged)
*Results of Regional Tournament of All China University
Championships are not counted in this category
Method of calculation of points (please refer to Table 1):
 If the competition was consisted of 3 or lower teams, no points will be counted
 If the competition was consisted of 4 teams, only the points of 1st place will be counted
 If the competition was consisted of 5 teams, only the points of 1st and 2nd place will be counted
 If the competition was consisted of 6 teams, only the points of the top 3 will be counted
 If the competition was consisted of 7 teams, only the points of the top 4 will be counted
