POLICE REPORTS: Need vigilance, information and early reporting of any suspicious circumstances, and keep an eye on vulnerable neighbours Could you use this information for message to NHWCs please? 8-9 Apr - Great Brington - Tack room entered by forcing the locks of the doors, nothing stolen. 8-9Apr - Upper Harlestone - Locks forced of garage doors, nothing stolen. 8-Apr - Shed broken into in Great Brington by breaking in via the window, a petrol strimmer was stolen. At approximately 7:10 am another resident spotted a male acting suspiciously on a driveway, when approached he told the resident he was there to do a gardening job, although no van was seen and he had no tools. He is described as late 30's, 5ft 10ins, greying hair, stocky, chubby face, he was wearing glasses, peaked fleecy navy hat, dark blue bomber jacket with orange stripes, light blue denim jeans, blue / orange trainers and spoke with a Birmingham accent. 7-Apr - Four males gain entry to a property located on the Sywell Road, Overstone via forcing open the front door, untidy search made of the property. All four males were arrested near to scene. 5 Apr - Burglary non-dwelling has been reported overnight from premises in Lower Harlestone. Offenders stole equipment to the tune of £10,000 pounds worth of equipment stolen, ranging from Hedge Cutters, Chain Saws, and a Karcher Pressure Washer, at the time of writing a full list is not known. The offenders removed the hinges from the gates, and cut through about four padlocks. March 12 and 13th Farm Burglary in Lower Harlestone. The offence occurred overnight between 1830 and 0730 on the 12th and 13th. Full details have yet to be taken, however a variety of workshop tools were stolen including a chainsaw, strimmer, portable welder, and some fishing equipment. It would appear entry has been gained to the premises via forcing open the small door with a larger roller shutter door. Also stolen A White Vauxhall KW03EUR 5th and 6th March We are attending a nasty burglary at Moulton (Arnsby Crescent) as I write: Elderly lady has been pushed to ground in her own home by burglar who has smashed back fence and door, and held down with a cloth over her mouth. Possibly targeted as she is elderly and has Lifeline Officers at Npton also dealing with a distraction burglary at Kingsthorpe earlier today Daventry officers also dealing with two other burglaries in Moulton over past few days – description of interest is Ginger, male, IC1, 20yrs, 6ft, scruffy clothing, acting odd in that area around late evening times, keeping an eye on which vehicles are entering and leaving the village Don’t know whether these are linked as yet MOULTON - Two dwelling burglaries, both by forcing entry into rear of property. For information, there has been a report of a person described as acting suspiciously – a white male, approx. 20yrs, 6ft, ginger hair, scruffy clothing, said to be acting odd around late evening times, appeared to be keeping an eye on which vehicles are entering and leaving the village. CREATON - An unsuccessful attempt to remove a horsebox trailer from a field causing damage. BOUGHTON - Wire perimeter fencing cut to field containing horses and livery yard, allowing horses to roam onto nearby highway. - Suspicious male reported looking into house window (occurred on Sunday evening, but reported to police yesterday). 3rd March - A report of a burglary dwelling in Brixworth. Entry via read patio doors. Untidy search. Elderly occupants were out at the time. Discovered on returning home. - A Van was stolen from between Old and Lamport this afternoon. This prompted an immediate response and with the Help of a tracking system, the van was located within the hour, in Wellingborough. This incident has highlighted that when you leave a vehicle, please ensure you secure it properly and remove the keys from the vehicle. - Building sites: Please be aware that the Police are currently experiencing un-wanted attention at Building sites around our area in the evenings and late at night. If any suspicious activity is seen or machines moved after the normal working hours, please call the Police immediately so that they can respond accordingly. Only last night, a site in Moulton was broken into and the offenders made off as Police arrived. Prompt attendance was due to a witness calling it straight in and staying on the phone until Police arrived. 2nd March - Over the past 24 hour period the following heating oil has been stolen in both Coton and Cottesbrooke. - There was also an unsuccessful attempt to gain entry to a van parked up at the side of the road in Cold Ashby, although that could of occurred anytime from the 13 th February. - There have also been two sightings of suspicious vehicles one in Church Brampton described as a white van with a registration ending in NZG and another seen in Walgrave another white transit van ending with YDF. 1st March - A report has been received regarding an incident in HOLCOT where a possible burglary dwelling has taken place. The I/P has reported that the back door to the property was left unlocked all night and during that time items have been taken. 23rd February - Last night at around 18.30 hours there was a burglary at an address in Walgrave, where the occupants were in the house, the back door unlocked. It would appear someone has entered the house and taken the occupants handbag containing all bank cards. With the bank cards were the pin numbers!!!! We can’t stress enough regarding separating pin numbers from cards, and through yourselves, can we promote the importance of securing external doors even if we are at home. Gone are the days of leaving our doors unlocked as this unfortunate crime displays. -Today, two vehicles of interest have been reported to us. First - ford transit registration number ending in **06DXU. Travelling around the WALGRAVE area asking about tree work. Second – VW PASSATT – grey in colour – KU56KUP reported by a local window cleaner being seen in the village of BRIXWORTH driving up and down driveways over a period of 5 hours during today. Checks completed after this call was received now shows the vehicle out of our force area at the time of writing this email. Please keep a look out for this vehicle. If see call us immediately. 22nd February Please be aware, - Late last night a Burglary dwelling was reported in Overstone village. - Today, Burglaries in Moulton and Boughton have been reported. The owners of two of these properties were away and have returned to find the crime. Please advise your Communities around house security and adopt-a-neighbour schemes whilst they are away. - A Honda Motorcycle, registration number KN15XYJ has been taken this afternoon also from the Brampton area.
