CO2 foot-printing for hotels
description
Hotels are offering life quality. Often this is closely related to sustainability and environmentally
friendly practice. Hotels have the opportunity to calculate their CO2-emissions for energy,
supply, mobility (guests and employees), kitchen etc.
Remaining CO2 emissions can be neutralized (payments to certified organizations realizing
CO2-reduction projects).
In advertising this (possibly CO2 neutral status) the subject may be transported to the guests. It
can be made clear how much CO2 can be saved with regional products, or seasonal products
or by meat reduced meals.
Additional offers like e-mobility, wellness etc. the image of the hotel as well as the image of the
region may profit.
Public relation is the key element in this matter.
The connection to regional CO2-reduction projects can support such initiatives
The municipality may support such initiatives financially or by the organization of hotel specific
energy efficiency networks
