newsletter-Feb-2017 - Dalmilling Primary School

January 2017
Dear Parents/Carers,
We have launched our new behaviour policy
and it is already having a positive impact
across the school.
Each Monday there will be an assembly
focussed on reminding pupils about rules and
procedures and rewarding good behaviour in
class and on the playground.
Any pupils who receive a Red Card will have a
Red Slip and a text home. Many thanks for
your support on this as home: school
partnership is vital.
We are interested in your views and
appreciated the feedback on the survey
monkey.
Free School Meals - IMPORTANT
Please could all parents who are entitled to
Free School Meals ensure they have
completed the relevant paperwork. School
funding will be linked to percentages of pupils
who are entitled. The office can support the
completion of the documents required.
Staffing
Paula Murphy, DHT, has been appointed as
substantive Headteacher at Barr and Barrhill
Primary Schools. Paula left Dalmilling in
October as Acting Headteacher at Invergarven
and since then Yvonne Daubney has been
Acting Depute.
We wish Paula all the very best and thank her
for her very positive contribution to Dalmilling.
School Uniform
Please
ensure
your child wears
school
uniform
every day. We
also
advise
against any shoes
or boots with heels
as they can be
dangerous on the playground.
Scottish Poetry Concert
Pupils may wish to wear a tartan ribbon or sash
for the Poetry Concert but otherwise please
wear uniform as normal. Parents of pupils
performing will be invited.
Bikability
Bikeability starts for P6 and P7 pupils that have
completed their level 1 on the 30th of January.
Reports
Pupils Annual Reports will be issued at the end
of this term.
Yours sincerely,
Gaenor Hardy, Headteacher
Karen Miller, Depute Headteacher
Yvonne Daubney, Acting Depute Headteacher
