Number talks are a great way for students to use mental math to solve problems,
explain their thinking, and have mathematical debates. A Number Talk is a short,
ongoing daily routine that provides students with meaningful ongoing practice with
computation.
• Math Centers- provide an opportunity for small group instruction and
differentiation
• Journaling

minimum of 3 times a year. Extra support in weak areas will be given if he/she is
below grade level expectations as well as progress monitoring assessments.
How can you help at home?
• Have your child to read daily for 15 minutes
• As your child is reading, ask them various questions to monitor comprehension
and have them to retell/summarize what they’ve read
• Practice reading the weekly sight words
• Model fluency sounds like
