 The
food goes in the mouth; it is chewed
into little pieces by the teeth and mixed
with saliva (spit) A apple a day keeps the
doctor away by eating a apple will keep the
doctor away and keep your teeth nice a
fresh to eat and crunch away for the next
day.
 The food is swallowed. It travels down the
food pipe to the stomach.

In the stomach the food is mixed with lots of
digestive juices. This breaks the food down into
tiny little pieces that can be taken into the
body.


The tiny pieces of food pass into the small
intestine.
Here all the good bits (healthy sugars,
nutrients, minerals, some fats) are taken into
the body. The small intestine also known as the
small bowel.
 The
waste products and
water pass into the large
intestine , here all the water
needed is taken the body.
What bits are left after the
large intestine are waste
products. This leaves the
body when we go to the
toilet.
