Living With The End In Mind

Living With The End In Mind
John 14:1-4
John 14:1-4
“Let not your heart be troubled; believe in
God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s
house are many dwelling places; if it were
not so, I would have told you; for I go to
prepare a place for you. And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I will come again,
and receive you to Myself; that where I
am, there you may be also. And you know
the way where I am going.”
What preparations need to be made?
“In the beginning God created the heavens
and the earth”.
-God wants to dwell with man.
-man chose to not dwell with God.
-separation from God and corruption
of mankind and all of creation.
-God announces preparations to fix it
….all of it!
He Will Eliminate All Corruption
“And I saw heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and He who sat
upon it is called Faithful and True; and in righteousness He judges and
wages war.
And His eyes are a flame of fire, and upon His head are many diadems;
and He has a name written upon Him which no one knows except
Himself.
And He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called The
Word of God.
And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and
clean, were following Him on white horses. And from His mouth comes a
sharp sword, so that with it He may smite the nations; and He will rule
them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath
of God , the Almighty.
And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF
KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
“And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried out
with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in
midheaven, “Come, assemble for the great supper of God;
in order that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of
commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of
horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men,
both free men and slaves, and small and great.”
“And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from
whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was
found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small,
standing before the throne, and books were opened; and
another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the
dead were judged from the things which were written in the
books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead
which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which
were I them; and they were judged, every one of them according
to their deeds
And death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is
the second death, the lake of fire, and if anyone’ name was not
found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of
fire.”
He Will Restore All Of Creation
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven
and the first earth passed away and there is no longer any sea.
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of
heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her
husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the
tabernacle of God is among men, and He shall dwell among
them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be
among them,
And He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there
shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any
mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
“Since all these things are to be destroyed in this
way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy
conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening
the coming of the day of
God, on account of which the heavens will be
destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt
with intense heat! But according to His promise we
are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in
which righteousness dwells.”

Peter 3:11-13
“potapos”- what nation or country or tribe;
what kind of person.
“Is He or isn’t He? God, that is. Sounds silly but I am dead serious.
Both the root of our fears and our courage to risk hinge on our
view of God. When our concept of Him is diminished, so is
courage for Him. But if our concept is correct, we become
unstoppable for the Kingdom.
So, how big is your God? The answer to that lies not in your words
but in the substance of your actions for Him. If you know who He
says He is, you will risk big.
Your concept of God is so important that when it is off, you suffer,
your relationships suffer, and your mission for God in the world
suffers. Wrong notions rot moral courage. Right notions produce
radical actions.”
