Press Release - Lindø port of Odense

Press Release
The harbour expansion at LINDØ port of ODENSE is progressing and four players are now identified for
prequalification.
LINDØ port of ODENSE is now taking its next great step towards the 400,000 square meter harbour
expansion which was commenced in March 2016 with the building of the East Dam which is anticipated to
be ready for use in Q2 of 2019.
A total of twelve contractors/consortia have applied for prequalification to bid for the big procurement
based on operational needs. The evaluation of applications is now completed and four players are selected
for submitting tenders on the basis of a detailed examination of the individual consortia's financial position
and experience from corresponding projects.
The identified contractors/consortia are (in random order):



BESIX (BE), Van Oord (NL) and C.G. Jensen (DK)
Aarsleff (DK) and Rohde Nielsen (DK) and consultants Sweco (DK)
Offshore Supply Terminal Nord Contractors (OSTNC), consisting of DEME / DIMCO (BE),
Dredging International (BE) and M.J. Ericsson (DK)
Jan de Nul (BE)
- We have had the privilege of a large field of applicants with enquiries from many Danish as well as
European contractors, and the large number of qualified applicants made the process leading up to
selection a difficult one, according to Carsten Aa, CEO of LINDØ port of ODENSE.
Over the next few months, LINDØ port of ODENSE will negotiate tenders and design solutions with the
selected contractors and consortia and we hope this will result in contract formation in the third quarter of
2017.
- In general, we have determined the external framework for the harbour expansion including detailed and
defined quality requirements of loads on quays and surface areas. This enables the contractors to optimise
both design and performance for the benefit of both project and price, Carsten Aa concludes.
Facts on the expansion of LINDØ port of ODENSE A/S:



New large harbour basin with a depth of 11.0m
