The school is aware of the need to educate and protect vulnerable children who may be put at particular risk from their and others’ actions online. A planned e-safety education programme takes place through PHSE / ICT / other lessons and is regularly revisited. Pupils / students are aware of e-safety issues and are empowered to stay safe. The school has a comprehensive e-safety policy, which is aligned with national, regional and LA policies and adopted by the whole school community. The school has an effective e-safety policy, which is aligned with national, regional and LA policies and has been developed in consultation with a wide range of staff, governors, pupils/students. There is “whole school ownership” of the policy. The whole policy is reviewed annually and when necessary, some elements more frequently. The school does not have an Acceptable User’s Policy (AUP) The school has an AUP but it is not well known and doesn’t cover both staff and pupils. The school has differentiated AUPs for staff, volunteers, students/pupils. The AUPs are regularly updated to align with current trends and adopted by All staff,governors, volunteers and pupils/students and the whole school community. The school has effective AUPs that is comprehensive and includes sanctions for all staff, governors, volunteers, pupils/students, including the use of mobile devices and social networking sites. All staff,governors, volunteers and pupils/students adhere to this policy, it is up to date, displayed, easily available and has been ratified by the Governing Body. The school has yet to begin using the SWGfL 360 degree safe e-safety review tool for schools. The school is receiving support from the local authority to use the SWGfL 360 degree safe e-safety review tool for schools. The school regularly uses the SWGfL 360 degree safe esafety review tool for schools and has completed all elements. The school books annual local authority support visits to ensure compliance. The school is working towards the E-Safety Mark award. The school utilises the SWGfL 360 degree safe, e-safety review tool for effective school improvement. E-Safety practice and protocols are monitored and evaluated effectively using up to date resources.
