MEET INFORMATION

ROYAL COMMONWEALTH POOL, EDINBURGH
1.Competition will be held under SASA rules
2.Boys and Girls will swim in separate events
3.Swimmers must compete in the team appropriate to their own school year, except in
open events (e.g. S1/2 pupil may not compete in an S3/4 team) PLEASE NOTE THIS
RULE MUST BE ADHERED TO OR THE SCHOOL WILL BE DISQUALIFIED
FROM THE EVENT.
4.All relays will be 4x50m. For secondary schools swimmers may compete in the
Freestyle and Medley events for their own school year AND in the Open Events.
Due to the large number of entries, unfortunately, each school may enter ONE
team per event.
5. Eligibility of Relay Team Members
They must be of amateur status and of 19 years and under as at 31st December
in year of competition.
b. They must be following a full-time course at school or Further Education
Establishment affiliated to the Scottish Schools Swimming Association
through their Area/Region and on the register of the school at the time of
competition.
a.
S6 Swimmers who have taken SQA exams during May/June 2017 may compete.
NB. For Further Education Establishments swimmers MUST NOT be studying at
Higher Education Level – that is HND or above.
c. They must not be in receipt of a wage or salary for the course followed.
6. Entry Fee £4.00 for each event entered. Please note this should be sent with the
entries and will not be refunded in the case of withdrawals. In the last few years
there have been a large number of withdrawals on the day which creates a lot of
last minute changes to the programme.
7. Programmes will be available for collection on the morning of the event.
8. Medals will be awarded to the first three teams in each event.
