EAST SQUARE TURNS BLUE AS GALAXY MACAU
GEARS UP FOR A SMURFTASTIC SUMMER
Smurfs village opens as the centerpiece of summer entertainment at the New Palace of Asia
with games, prizes, performances and activities for all the family
(Macau & Hong Kong, 13 July 2013) –The summer season at Galaxy Macau™ got off to a
Smurfin‟ great start with the launch of the elaborate “The Smurfs 2 Summer Village” at the
resort‟s East Square. Inspired by the upcoming movie, The Smurfs 2, the Summer Village is
the perfect place for families to escape the heat for some cool blue fun and merriment from
13 July to 11 August.
Every day between noon and 9pm, the world of the Smurfs erupts into action with engaging
live performances and themed parades with mascot appearances that transport family
members into a real-life Smurfs kingdom. The festive decorations and colorful Mushroom
Houses also provide a delightful backdrop for photos. Those who email their favorite shots
(in jpeg format smaller than 2MB) to [email protected] before 11
August will be entered in the
„Smurfy Snap Shot‟ photo contest for a chance to win
fabulous prizes, including a complimentary night‟s stay at Galaxy Hotel™ and lots of UA
Galaxy Cinemas movie tickets available.
For kids and kids at heart who want to get involved, a host of Smurf-themed booths will keep
fans of all ages entertained – whether they‟re playing a game against evil wizard Gargamel‟s
“Naughties”, doing fun DIY activities, getting creative in the arts and crafts section, or going
wild with tattoos and face painting. Game and activity coupons are redeemable for Galaxy
Privilege Club members, resort hotel guests, retail and restaurant patrons who spend
MOP200 or more at Galaxy Macau, or with the purchase of two movie tickets at UA Galaxy
Cinemas. Coupons are limited on a first come, first served basis.
All the Smurf-tastic action reaches a glittering peak on 28 July when the film‟s voice over
celebrities Sugar Club hit the red carpet for the Gala Premiere of the 3D extravaganza The
Smurfs 2 (3D) at UA Galaxy Cinemas. The film opens to the public on August 1 at UA
Galaxy Cinemas, so everyone will have the opportunity to catch this can‟t-miss summer
smash in the opulent surroundings of Macau‟s most cutting-edge cineplex.
“Galaxy Macau‟s „World Class, Asian Heart‟ approach extends to every age group, so we‟re
delighted to be able to create this wonderful „The Smurfs 2 Summer Village‟ for our valued
guests of all ages,” said Ms Janette Kendall, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Galaxy
Macau, at the launch ceremony. “„The Smurfs’ has universal appeal, and „The Smurfs 2
Summer Village‟ promises to bring the excitement of the new movie to life for our guests and
the local community at East Square. With its luxurious, state-of-the-art facilities, there‟s no
better place than UA Galaxy Cinemas to enjoy a totally immersive 3D experience when The
Smurfs 2 (3D) opens here in August.”
