It should be noted that in the event the recommended five-globe
light fixture is not feasible to include in this project (for practical
reasons or unmitigable), the previously considered acorn light
fixture is an acceptable alternative; a modern visually inconspicuous alternative would also be acceptable. In addition, if
further consideration of trees persists – it should be considered to
include them along the park block face to incorporate them into
that setting. This would minimize their effect on the businesses
that were not in favor and minimize their impact on the historic
integrity of downtown.
The following streetscape elements should continue to be
reviewed and discussed amongst City and MnDOT staff to determine which elements, if any, are incorporated in the final design.
