Mini Roo Football is a modified form of 11-a-side football
designed for players between U/6 and U/11 age groups.
It is structured for the players to have fun and enjoyment
leading to progression of 11-a-side format as they get
older. It has benefits of improving a player’s confidence
and self-esteem and fostering technical abilities as there
are more touches of the ball and goal scoring
opportunities.

Hear from Ange Postecoglou …
No matter what your age, most of us
played sport when we were young and
there was always one thing that made
you want to disappear into a corner or
even give up your chosen sport. And
that was when someone on the sideline
hurled abuse at either you, a team mate
or official. These are the moments that
make sport painful for so many kids.
Time has come to stop it. Ange’s
message is simple – let kids be kids.

Some comments from our Coaches and Managers
U/12G from Coach Oliver:
Fantastic effort by the girls on Sunday playing the Rams A team who I know have been playing together for
some 7 years. Although we had a loss of only 3 nil unlike other teams so far whom have met them have
been beaten 10nil, 12nil etc our girls playing with only 8 (9 take the field) and obviously no subs whilst the
Rams had 5 subs, the girls took it to them and played as good as the opposition. I am extremely proud of all
of them for putting in a big effort and I know the opposition was a bit taken aback when our girls came out
guns blazing, who knows what the score would have been if we had a full compliment with 1 sub. Cracking
game girls, you won in my eyes. Keep up the good work.
U/8 Kangaroo from Manager Vicki:
The 2017 U/8s Kangaroo team is a brand new team, with most of the players never having played together
before. But, the Football Gods must have been smiling down on us, as the team is made of a really lovely
bunch of kids (and I must say, the parents are a pretty good bunch too!). Ava, Caleb, Ethan, Giuliano,
Hayden, Isaak, Luca, Thomas and Tylar, are our little Kangaroo super stars who go out each game and
give it their best shot. With all training cancelled due to the wet weather at the beginning of the season, it
was a little hard for the kids to find their feet as a team for the first match or two, but they are definitely
working as a team now and loving their training and games.
U/9 Dingoes B from Manager Aysha:
They are smashing it, playing as a true team - passing, running the ball and talking to one another. The
coach Elvin has developed key skills based training that the boys are using in the game - last week against
Glenhaven we saw magic headers and throw ins. Keep it up boys!
Well done KUFC teams! Keep up the great teamwork!
