Juvenile Black Tiger prawns submersed in water
containing GAV inoculum had 100% survival and
significantly less GAV compared to controls
Water transmission of GAV is difficult.
Juvenile Black Tiger prawns fed GAV infected
prawn meat had ~50% survival and significantly
more GAV compared to controls but loading was
highly variable and uncontrolled.
GAV challenge assays are most reproducible
and reliable when inoculum is injected into tailmuscle.
