REGIONAL MANAGER, RISING SUN ENERGY CENTER Rising Sun Energy Center is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and committed individual to implement the California Youth Energy Services program in our western region (Oakland, Richmond, Marin County, and Santa Rosa). If you have experience successfully supervising people and programs, have experience working with young adults, and have a passion for sustainability, we want to hear from you. Our youth program, California Youth Energy Services (CYES), reduces youth unemployment and fight climate change by employing and training youth to provide energy efficiency and water conservation services to homes in the greater Bay Area. Since 2000, Rising Sun has employed more than 1,355 youth who have provided over 33,700 homes with Green House Calls to save water and energy. JOB SUMMARY The Regional Manager leads and manages the CYES program in 5 cities. Responsibilities include program planning and implementation, as well as staff supervision. As Regional Manager, you’ll directly supervise a full-time, year-round Regional Outreach Manager (ROM) and 10 seasonal managers; you’ll indirectly supervise 45 youth each year. You’ll be based in Berkeley with regular travel to cities in your region throughout the spring and summer. RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead and manage planning for the CYES program in your region • Co-lead a 1.5 week training for summer managers and assistant youth managers • Complete end-of-program invoicing and reporting for your region • Collaborate with CYES team and leadership to develop and track site and program goals, manage program budgets, and determine overall program strategy • Help guide the direction and improvement of the CYES program overall, including participation and leadership on annual program improvement taskforces KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES • Equal weight will be given to candidates with a BA/BS degree or with relevant experience • Strong experience leading or implementing programs and/or projects • Excellent computer skills: word processing, spreadsheet software, database management • Excellent communication, partnership-building, and conflict management skills • Key qualities: problem-solver, adaptable, accountable, takes initiative, self-starter, team player; thrives in a fastpaced environment REQUIREMENTS • Own a car with valid driver’s license and insurance • Ability to work some flexible hours • Ability to lift 15+ pounds, climb a ladder, and to walk up to one mile at a time This is a full-time, exempt position.
