Children’s Homes Quality Standards Partnership
Accountability for meeting the Regulations and Quality Standards
The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 are drafted to make the “registered person” accountable.
This means either the registered provider (owner) or registered manager depending on how the
home is organised, run and managed. For small organisations the provider may be much more
involved in the day to day running and in larger organisations the Registered Providers
responsibilities are held by the Responsible Individual and the Registered Managers.
This tool sets out the specific responsibilities the legislation requires Registered Providers to fulfil.
How you can use it:




Use it to clarify what the Registered Manager or the Registered Provider is responsible for
Use it to help staff understand what they are also accountable for
Use it as discussion points in supervision and team meetings
Use it as a quick reference to help you find your way around the Regulations
