CHRIS HILLSETH ENTERPRISES PARTNERS WITH PHYCOTECH INC TO
RELEASE ULTRA-EFFICIENT ALGAE PHOTOBIOREACTOR
THE PHYCOFOREST UTILIZES NARROW TUBES AND A UNIQUE AIRLIFT
SYSTEM TO MASS PRODUCE PURE ALGAL CULTURES
Gardena, CA – CHRIS HILLSETH ENTERPRISES, a leading supplier of equipment and
facilities, has officially been named Machinery and Distribution Partner of PHYCOTECH INC, a
photobioreactor technology company. Together, Chris Hillseth Enterprises and Phycotech
Inc will offer the Phycoforest, a state-of-the-art and easily scalable photobioreactor that will
promote the research, development and commercialization of algal biotech.
Says Chris Hillseth, President and CEO of Chris Hillseth Enterprises, “While algae research
has been going on for many years, we have only scratched the surface of this vast field, and
many improvements can be made. With the Phycoforest, researchers and entrepreneurs alike
will be able to test, grow, and harvest healthy microalgae in a controlled environment. The
potential for growth within this industry is endless, and we are thrilled to be working with
Phycotech to be a part of it.”
The Phycoforest Photobioreactor is a reactor that effectively produces dense, pure, and
stable algal cultures in a closed system. It utilizes narrow vertical tubes and a unique airlift
mixing and conveying system to optimize photosynthetic activity, nutrient delivery and gas
exchange. The system is highly efficient due to the combined factors of high biomass
productivity and low operational and capital cost. Currently, the Phycotech Phycoforest is
available in three standard sizes, 150L, 1500L, and 15000L.
Phycotech has brought together an expert team of industry professionals for their Phycoforest
Advisory Team. The company’s mission is to provide its customers with cutting-edge
photobioreactor technology.
“By providing cost-effective solutions for the production of high-quality algal biomass, we hope
to contribute the continued growth of the algal industry, and play a key role in a more
sustainable world”, remarks Paul Cathart, President of Phycotech. “By partnering with Chris
Hillseth Enterprises, we are confident that we can make a difference in this industry, and are
excited about what the future will bring.”
The complete Phycotech Advisory board includes:

ABOUT ALGAE BIOTECHNOLOGY:
Algae biotechnology can utilize the cellular machinery of algal cells as microscopic chemical
factories. Molecules for fuel, food, feed, plastics, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics can all be
produced using only sunlight, carbon dioxide and common plant fertilizers. Closed
photobioreactors allow for the control of the culture parameters for the production of the desired
compounds. They also do not require arable land, nor large quantities of fresh water. With only
5 of the 20,000 known algal species in commercial cultivation today, the frontier of algal biotech
is open before us. Algae can be used to make bio-fuel, bio-plastics, gelatins, food, cosmetics,
and more.
