Vote in Advance - By Mail Advance voting by mail begins 20 days prior to every election. By law, ballots cannot be mailed more than 20 days prior to the election. KSA 25-1123 Advance Voting by Mail Begins - Wednesday, July 13th Ballots must be received at the Election Office by 7:00 p.m. on Election day to be counted. To vote by mail: Application for an Advance Voting Ballot by Mail Fax to (785) 309-5826 or mail to: Saline County Election Office, PO Box 5040, Salina, KS 67402-5040 A separate application must be submitted for each election unless the voter qualifies for Permanently sick/disabled status. Advance voting ballots will not be accepted at a polling place. If the ballot cannot be delivered to the Election Office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day and is taken to a polling location, the Advance ballot will be voided and a Provisional ballot will be issued in its place. The Provisional ballot must be completed by the person who requested the Advance voting ballot. Only permanently sick or disabled voters may apply for Permanent advance voting status. Voters may apply for permanent advance voting status by completing the appropriate question on the Application for an Advance Voting Ballot. Twenty-four-hour caregivers do not qualify for Permanent status for themselves. However, they may request to have their ballots mailed to them by submitting an advance application for each election. Permanent Advance Application Vote at the Polls on Election Day The polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. To vote, Kansas law requires all voters to show approved photo ID. Photo ID must include the name and photo of the registered voter. If you are currently a registered voter in Saline County and you move within Saline County, you may go to your new polling place, complete a voter registration application and vote a paper ballot. Please call the Election Office to locate your new polling place. (785) 309-5820 If you are currently a registered voter in Saline County and you have changed your name since the last election, you may go to your polling place on Election Day, complete a voter registration application and vote a paper ballot. Advance Voting Tips and Reminders · You will need to show a valid photo ID in order to vote in each election. · If you mail your advance ballot, it must be received at the Election Office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. · The signature on the outside of the advance ballot envelope must match the name on the mailing label. If it does not match, your vote cannot be counted. · If you vote a Provisional ballot because you could not show a valid ID, you have until 9:00 a.m. on Monday August 8th to fax mail or deliver to the Election Office proof of an approved form of ID. · College students and persons temporarily away from Saline County may apply for an Advance Ballot by calling the Election Office to request an application. This request has to be signed by the voter and mailed back before a ballot is mailed out. Please call the office two to three weeks in advance allowing mailing time.
