Quality Assurance Activities : At Tamron, quality management activities are performed in compliance with ISO9001:2000 not only to assure product quality but to enhance customer satisfaction. Environmental Protection : We recognize the significance of our social responsibilities. Tamron promotes corporate activities that protect the earth's environment through the establishment of a quality assurance system that is compliant with ISO14001. World’s First Optical Vibration Compensation Function World’s first optical vibration compensation function effectively compensates for external vibration affecting the installation site. A stable images can be captured without the affect from the vibration of the camera. Diverse Lens Lineup Four models of fixed-focal-length lenses covering a range from wide-angle to telephoto, and two models of zoom lenses are available. Thermal infrared image detection: maximum detection distance 2,232m, 160(H) x 120(V) Active Athermal Compensation The built-in active athermal compensation automatically detects target objects and corrects for the optimal image quality in the ambient temperature range of -20Cº to +60Cº. Built-in Optical Zoom Two models of zoom lenses are equipped with an IF (internal focusing) function allow for fast autofocus. E Advantages of Optical Zoom and Optical Image Stabilization Systems When a telephoto lens is used for long distance security monitoring, it is affected by external vibrations (from the mounting location, buildings, wind pressure, etc.), resulting in camera-shake that inevitably undermines the quality of the image being captured. Tamron 15-45mm F/1.4 and 35-105mm F/1.0 lenses are equipped with optical zoom and optical image stabilization systems, allowing the highest quality images to be captured. These features, because they are completely different from digital zoom and digital image stabilization, are capable of utilizing all pixel data effectively, causing any deterioration of the image quality under all settings, meaning no pixel roughness. Equipped with these systems, a long wavelength infrared camera can capture the optimum image of an object within a given horizontal and vertical field of view and shooting distance. For example, when a camera is used for monitoring a suspected intruder, it is able to capture a precise image, resulting in reduced information errors, making the system highly reliable. Optical Zoom Vibration from moving vehicles, wind, camera mounts, etc. Optical Image Stabilization System Two types of zoom lenses are available: medium-distance monitoring lenses (focal length 15-45mm) and long-distance monitoring lenses (focal length 35-105mm). They are not only useful for changing magnification, but also convenient because a camera can be setup and then adjusted to the necessary field of view. Because the lenses are equipped with stepping motors with electrical controls, optical zooming is possible based on the address information specified on the camera. Electrical or manual optical zooming is also selectable on the camera. Comparison of Horizontal Fields of View Tamron lenses are all equipped with an optical vibration compensation ( VC ) system, the world’s first for long wavelength infrared cameras. This technology, being a Tamron core-competence, is similar to the image stabilizers used for single-lens reflex cameras, etc., providing high image quality even during continuous shaking caused by wind or the ground vibrations. Vibration from moving vehicles, wind, camera mounts, etc. VC / OFF *The fields of view have been calculated based on a sensor size of 7.52mm (w) x 5.64mm (h) (9.4mm diagonal).(QVGA 23.5µm pixel pitch) Fixed focal length lens Cutaway of the Optical Vibration Compensation (VC) System SD001 25mm (17.1° ) SD002 35mm (12.3° ) SD003 50mm (8.6° ) SD004 100mm (4.3° ) VC / ON SD005 / 15-45mm (28.1° - 9.6° ) Zoom lens SD006 / 35-105mm (12.3° - 4.1° ) Field of view 30 20 15 10 7 5 3 Active Athermal Compensation The active athermal compensation function of Tamron lenses is capable of capturing images stably under many environmental conditions, such as temperature changes after sunset and seasonal variations. Although “athermal compatible” lenses commonly compensate for focus shifts by combining materials with different linear coefficient of expansion, Tamron lenses detect temperature changes in the most critical portions inside the chassis in order to apply optimal electromechanical compensation according to the temperature. Electronic Focus Tamron’s IF ( internal focus) system provides a high-quality, highly homogenous image of the entire area of focus, as well as the shortest focusing time by decreasing the travel distances among focus lens groups. By combining a spot AF function this system is able to follow and pinpoint an object instantaneously when it is moving.
