abilities and feel confident of your efforts. Feel free to talk to me about any assignments for clarification or just help. If you
have other issues and need to talk to a counselor then you can go to the Health Center office in room S-122 of the Student
Center, phone number 661-362-3259 they will be happy to assist you for free.”
Field trips:
Field trips may be considered part of the course and are counted towards class attendance if the field trip is conducted during class
time. Students who are unable to attend the field trip shall be assigned an activity or assignment to be prepared in the TLC lab
during the field trip course time. Students are to conduct themselves as a professional representative of the college when
attending fieldtrips. If you are a minor, you must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Student Conduct/ Academic Integrity:
As at any academic institution, you are required to conduct yourself as a professional and courteous student. Any act of
plagiarism, cheating, disrespect towards other students, etc. will be disciplined to the utmost degree by college rules and
standards. Please keep all cell phones on vibrate. College policy dictates that no food and or beverages will be permitted in the
classroom. You may bring in capped bottles and keep them under your desk, but must recycle any empty bottles. No
smoking, tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaporizers or other paraphernalia are permitted in the classroom.
Classes with a lab component: Students are responsible for cleaning their work surface after each class so that the next student using
that desk doesn’t have to clean up after you. All cutting must be done on a cutting mat (not directly on the drafting tables).
Drafting board surfaces must be protected with your cutting mat or cardboard when coloring, painting or gluing. Any spray
painting must be done at home or outside a minimum of 25’ away from any building or sidewalks.
Late assignments: will be accepted for up to one week after the due date and penalized one full letter grade. There are no
exceptions without a valid excuse.
Drop Policy: It is at the discretion of the instructor to drop/withdraw a student for non-attendance after the third absence.
Students who arrive late or leave early will be listed as tardy. Three tardies is equal to one absence. Arriving late and leaving early
is equal to two absences. If the drop or withdraw deadline is missed and the student’s name remains on the role sheet yet the
student continues to miss class, the student will be awarded an F or FW (fail or fail due to not withdrawing).
Materials: Purchase one 1-1/2” 3-ring binder with tabs for notes/handouts, assignments, tests and grading sheets. This is so you
can stay organized throughout the semester.
Important: Label all of your tools, supplies and textbooks with your name prior to bringing to class since these items may look
exactly like supplies owned by other students.
