Pre-test for BOKU Admission
Informal admission information for the master´s programme “Organic
Agricultural Systems and Agroecology” (EUR-Organic)
Graduates of Bachelor degrees completed at a recognised domestic or foreign higher education
institution who want to apply for the master “AgroEco-Organic” or the double degree master “EUROrganic” have to demonstrate knowledge in natural and social sciences as well as engineering to be
admitted at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences , Vienna (BOKU).
For admission to the master programme you have demonstrate basic knowledge of at least 20 ECTSCredits in each of the following areas:
(1) Area I: Natural sciences
(2) Area II: Agricultural production techniques
(3) Area III: Social sciences, economics and law
If you fail to fulfil these requirements, you will be admitted at BOKU with the respective conditions up to 30
ECTS in addition to your regular study programme.
In case the conditions surpass 30 ECTS, you may not be admitted.
In addition, applicants have to prove their English language proficiency at B2 level (Common
European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Note:
Do a self‐evaluation to find out if you are eligible for admission based on the courses you passed
during your
bachelor/master studies!
After you recognised that you are eligible, you can officially apply for admission.
The final decision about your admission will be taken by the programme coordinator.
Instruction for the self-evaluation:
1.) Column two: Fill in the name of the courses of your Bachelor degree in the list which fits to
the equivalent course at BOKU´s Bachelor degree in Agricultural Sciences (indicated in
column four).
2.) Column three: Fill in the ECTS-Credits of the courses of your Bachelor degree in the list which
fits to the equivalent course at BOKU´s Bachelor degree in Agricultural Sciences (indicated in
column four). Important: make sure you only inserted numbers and no letters or space in the
beginning, the end or in between; otherwise calculation won´t work!
3.) To do the Calculation: After you filled in the name and the ECTS-Credits (third column) of the
courses of you Bachelor degree in all rows of area I, proceed to the underlined number in
field in row 13 column 3 (highlighted with a red framing), press the right button of your
mouse to select in the menu “Felder aktualisieren”.
4.) Repeat the procedure for area II (underlined numbers for calculation are in the fields in row
24 highlighted with a red framing) and area III (underlined numbers for calculation are in the
fields in row 35 highlighted with a red framing).
5.) To calculate your conditions in addition to your regular study programme proceed to the
underlined numbers in the fields in row 36 and row 38 highlighted with a red framing. Press
the right button of your mouse to select in the menu “Felder aktualisieren”.
