La Bonne Cuisine Catering Inc. welcomes you to the 2015-2016 school year!
The 1st trimester is from Tuesday September 8th to Friday December 18th.
Menu planning:
Our menus are designed to abide by the guidelines set forth in the modern
nutrition guide called MyPlate (previously known as the Food Pyramid or
MyPyramid). In agreement with FASNYPTA, we stopped serving the
recommended milk as students at FASNY are not accustomed to drinking milk
for lunch.
NEW! For the 2015-2016 Academic Year we will reintroduce whole grains as an additional option.
NEW! Simplified menu: (to help parents with picky eaters make a selection in Larchmont and Scarsdale)
Tuesday beef, Thursday chicken, and Friday vegetarian/fish day.
NEW! Vegetarian options: a vegetarian dish will be added to the menu on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
NEW! We are switching All our Deli Meats (Scarsdale, Larchmont, and Mamaroneck Campus) to All Natural
products - No Antibiotics - No Nitrates or Nitrites.
NEW! All Natural Sandwiches Program (same price as the hot meal): in Larchmont sandwiches with
Sliced Whole Wheat Bread and All Natural Deli Meats and served with organic crudités (carrots, cherry
tomatoes, or celery sticks) along with the choice of an organic yogurt or fresh cut fruits (the fruit choice will
not be organic).
Organic: Last Spring we switched to Stonyfield organic yogurts as a permanent second dessert choice. This
year we will introduce organic tomato and carrot products and we hope to introduce more organic items during
the course of the year.
NEW! Non-GMO Fruits and Vegetable Guarantee: There are the 8 GMO Crops commercialized on the
market: Alfalfa, Canola, Corn, Cotton, Papaya, Soy, Sugar Beets, Zucchini and Yellow Summer Squash. We
will not serve any of these items on the menu unless they are Non-GMO items. We are switching from corn
oil to NON-GMO sunflower and olive oils.
Note: GMO Crops such as Corn and Soy are used in most animal feed. The meat we use in the hot lunch is
conventional and we do not claim to serve NON-GMO meat at this point in time as organic meat options would
significantly increase the cost of the lunch.
