Intro
• In this powerpoint slideshow we will tell you
how to make a very oaty ,very English, very
high quality APPLE CRUMBLE.
• You should ideally use fresh apples to make
your APPLE CRUMBLE.
Note: Ideally the apples should be fresh,
straight off the tree. We used apples from the
local park.
Warning
• Children under 11 should have anyone over 16
supervising them.
• Author must not be blamed for any damage or
injuries.
• Be careful of sharp objects like knife and peeler.
• Use oven gloves to handle hot things.
• If required, take an adult’s help to keep the
crumble in the oven for baking and to remove it
after it is cooked.

• 400G Apples, peeled,
cored and quartered
• 50G Sugar to sweeten
• 1 Table spoon water
35G Oats
35G Whole wheat flour
20G Caster sugar
35G butter
Step 1
Making the Apple and Plum Compote
Put the cored, peeled, cubed apples
and plums into a pan with the sugar
and the water. Cook over a low heat
for 5 minutes and place in a small
ovenproof dish.
Step 2
• Preheat the oven to 190◦c/gas 5.
Step 3
• Tip the oats, flour and sugar
into a large bowl. Add the
butter, then rub into the flour
using your fingertips to make a
light breadcrumb texture.
• NOTE: Do not overwork it or
the crumble will become
heavy.
Step 4
• Sprinkle the mixture evenly
over the prepared fruit and
bake for 15 mins or until lightly
coloured.
