Important Information about the Home Oxygen Service over the holiday period
What are the deadlines for ordering home oxygen over the holiday period?
Away From Home – A Home Oxygen Order Form (HOOF) is no longer
needed when ordering holiday oxygen, unless the prescription needs to be
changed. Patients should ring the Air Products Help line to place their order.
Orders for holiday oxygen supplies must be received by 5.00pm on Tuesday
29th May 2012
Bank Holiday Weekend - Orders for supplies to cover the Spring/Queen’s
Diamond Jubilee bank holiday must be received by 5.00pm on Tuesday 29th
May 2012
Normal ordering timetable resumes on Wednesday 6th June 2012
Emergency Supplies and Hospital Discharges
The service for emergency delivery of oxygen supplies will remain as normal, with
oxygen supplies delivered within 4 hours.
The delivery of oxygen equipment to your home prior to discharge from hospital will
also continue as normal, with oxygen equipment delivered the next day.
Thinking of taking your oxygen equipment with you whilst away for
the holiday period?
If you intend to take your own concentrator with you, always follow the safety
advice in your ‘Patient Pack’ on transporting your machine and remember to take
back-up cylinders. If you require portable cylinders while you are away, please
ask your GP to provide Air Products with an order.
If a patient is going away and requires oxygen to be delivered to a holiday/secondary address, the
patient or their carer can provide the Home Oxygen Contractor with all of their holiday details by
calling the Home Oxygen Contractor’s Homecare Helpline.
An Air Products colleague has advised me that North West HOS patients received information about
the ordering arrangements over the Spring Bank Holiday and Queen’s Jubilee Bank holiday in
February, March and April and key messages have been conveyed in the latest version Air Products
Sunshine magazine.
