Rules
 Games will be started with each team in own half and a coin toss will decide which team will start
with the ball. (Ball must be passed backwards to start)
 No contact is allowed with opposition and ball must be intercepted. Any infringement on this rule
will result in a free throw
 Plays can score direct from a free throw in any position on the court
 On receiving the ball, players are not allowed to take more than three paces before passing or
shooting. If more paces are taken, a free throw will be given to the opposition
 Players are allowed to run with the ball bouncing however once they have stopped they are then
not allowed to take any more than the 3 steps detailed above (similar to basketball)
 Players cannot be in possession of the ball for any longer than 5 seconds. If leader / referee deems
this to be longer, then a free throw will be given to the opposition.
 No players allowed in the ‘D’ at either end of the court at any time. Should an attacker step in the ‘D’
the goalkeeper would restart with the ball. Should a defender step in the ‘D’ a penalty is awarded to
the attacking team from the marked spot
 Goalkeepers can stand anywhere in their ‘D’ for a penalty shot and all penalties must be taken from
the marked spot with a standing start.
 Once a goal is scored, play will restart with the opposition at the centre line. All players must be
onside before play is restarted.
 If the ball goes out of play at the side of the marked court, then a throw in will take place giving
possession to the opposition team. Throw ins can be taken in any way however feet must be behind
the sideline. Goals cannot be scores direct from a throw in.
 If the ball goes out of play anywhere on the dead ball line, the ball will be given back to the
goalkeeper. No corners will be given at all (even if a shot is deflected) and goalkeeper must start
with the ball every time.
 Goalkeepers must stay within the ‘D’ at all times.
 Substitutions can be made at any time during the game, however referee’s/leaders must be made
aware before these take place and must be undertaken when the ball has gone out of play or when
the play has stopped to allow the leaders to keep control of the full game.
 If continued fouls are committed by the same player the referee is able to ask the team manager to
substitute the player and they will be unable to take part for the rest of the competition.

All participants must adhere to the referees / leaders decisions and should not dispute any decision
made. If players dispute any decision a referee / leader is able to reward the opposition a free throw or
is able to move the free throw five paces towards the opposition goal
