P.T.O. MEETING
Frazee’s PTO officers for the 2016-2017 school
year are: President, Melissa Scott; Vice President,
Samantha Parker; Secretary, Anne Stanley;
Treasurer, Kathrine Good. We are thankful for this
group and the work they do to help make Frazee a
great school! They are working to pay for new
playground equipment for our students and
community. We will have our next PTO meeting on
Monday Sept. 19th at 4:00 p.m. Please come and
be a part of this important team of parents that
support our school. Every parent is welcome to
attend!
Parent Signature_____________________________
Please read the newsletter, sign, and return so your child can
get a Falcon ticket. We want our parents know what is going
on at Frazee!
STUDENT ARRIVAL
If you provide transportation for your child, or if
he or she walks, please do not let them arrive
until our doors open at 7:45. Students are not
supervised outside and we do not want anyone
standing in the rain or snow! Thank you!
Students have many opportunities to earn Falcon
tickets each day. Students that display being
respectful, responsible and ready daily can be
given a Falcon ticket by an adult at Frazee.
Students then get to use their tickets to check out
balls, frisbees, bubbles, sidewalk chalk to play
during recess. There are many other things on the
principal’s and classroom teacher’s menu that
students can choose as well. One of the most
popular is to use the principal’s chair for the day or
spend time with the principal and enjoy a healthy
snack and drink. There are many choices for
students and everyone has a great time “cashing”
in their tickets.
SUMMER READING
If your child completed “Reading Passport” or, if
child in grades K-2 completed “Summer Reading
Journal” please send them to the office. We will be
having our celebration soon for all students who
turn them in.
AGENDAS, CALENDARS & FRIDAY FOLDERS
Please sign your child’s agenda or behavior
calendar each evening. This is one of our
communication tools used to keep you in the
know about homework, behavior or any other
information important concerning your child.
Also, every Friday your child will bring home a
red plastic folder that needs to be looked at
carefully for important information such as,
graded papers, future events, and notes. This
folder needs to be signed by a parent every
Friday and returned to school on Monday.
CELL PHONES
Cell Phones can be brought to school by
students who walk to and from school, or go
home alone. Students who are transported by
a parent should not be bringing a cell phone to
school. Any student, who brings a cell phone,
must have a parent fill out a “Cell Phone
Necessary” form in order to transport it to
school. Also, all phones must be turned in to
the office upon entering the building and picked
up on the way out each day.
VOLUNTEERING
If you would like to volunteer at Frazee for
field trips, help in the classroom, or visit your
child during lunch you must have a background
check completed. This does not include visiting
Frazee during special events. Call Mrs. Fields
and ask for the “Background Check” form if you
wish to come to volunteer in any way.

Labels for P.T.O.
Please collect Box Top labels to help our school earn supplies.
The labels will be collected at the end of each month! A
special celebration for the class that brings in the most labels.
Can’t wait to see who wins for September!
Bicycles
Students cannot ride their bikes to school until they are a
4th grader. Also, parents must sign a permission slip before
their child is permitted to ride a bike to school. These can be
picked up in the school office.
A Message from Your Principal………….
It is hard to believe that we have been in school for
three weeks! Today we celebrated July and August
birthdays by calling students to the office for a treat
and pencil. We will be doing this at the end of every
month. June birthdays will be celebrated in May.
We have been working on procedures, routines and
transitions so everyone knows what is expected
throughout a school day. We are talking a lot about
goals with our students. Every student sets a
reading goal that must be met at the end of nine
weeks. All kindergarten, first and second graders
must read a book every day and have a parent sign
a slip. Grades 3 thru 6 must meet the reading goal
they set with their teacher. Students are keeping a
log of all fiction and non-fiction books they are
reading. This goal is set for the number of books
read independently. Their logs will include books
read in groups, teacher read-alouds and those they
read on their own. Please encourage your child to
read daily! We will celebrate with those who rise to
this challenge and meet their goal at the end of the
nine weeks!
Remember we expect great attendance at Frazee.
Students must have a fever or vomiting to stay
home. If your child misses school, he or she should
not be seen playing outside, going to restaurants or
attending school functions in the evening. If they
are too sick to attend school then they should be
kept at home in bed so they can get better quickly.
Students cannot be successful in school if they are
tardy or miss school. As I look at assessments it is
clear that students who miss a lot of school and/or
have a lot of tardies do not do well on tests
because they miss valuable instruction. We have
some students who have not ever passed ISTEP
and the only reason is because so much school is
missed. Our students need to know that their
parents have the same expectations when it comes
to school attendance. Let’s work together to be
sure your child is successful. Please call (8256811) to let us know if your child is going to be out
due to illness, and come to pick up any missed
work.
I hope you have a wonderful three day weekend
with your family. Have fun, play and laugh together.
School resumes on Tuesday, Sept. 6th. I look
forward seeing you and your wonderful children
when we return for a great time of learning at
Frazee!
