Summary
Hong-Ye Li is currently a Professor in the Key Laboratory of Eutrophication
and Red Tide Prevention of the Guangdong Higher Education Institutes,
College of Life Science, Jinan University, Guangzhou, China. He received his
Ph.D in Plant Molecular Biology from the University of Hong Kong in 2003.
Research in Dr. Li lab has focused on the molecular mechanisms of lipid
metabolism of marine microalgae and its potential in microalgal biofuel, also
is interested in genetic improvement of microalgae for value added
bioproducts. He has published over 40 papers on SCI journals,
including
SCI TOP journals such as Environmental Microbiology, Metabolic
Engineering, Biotechnology for Biofuels, Microbial Cell Factory, Journal of
Agriculture and Food Chemistry, etc. He has
delivered over 10 oral
presentations in international conferences. His lab has established efficient
microalgal genetic expression platforms for further investigations on
microalgae at molecular level. His group has invented many improved
microalgal strains and holds a number of patents.
