2. Transparent iron oxide pigment
Particle size is under 5 µm, so it is also called Nano iron
oxide. it can help to raise and enhance weather
resistance of painting and coating, especially painting
for Auto with its transparence and UV absorption.
Metallic effect will come out while transparent iron
oxide blended with Aluminum pigment pearl powder
in Oil or Water based system. Not only Color effect
produced which is expensive organic pigment can only
be when mixed with organic pigment but also weather
resistance.
Red and Yellow in transparent iron oxide is popular
and widely applied.
3. Mica iron oxide pigment
Lamellar crystal, thermal endurance can be over 800
centigrade degree, non-toxic and rather stable.
Synthesis thickness of crystal is from 0.5 µm to 2 µm,,
smooth and undamaged, the transparent light is
beautiful blood red with metallic glossy reflected on the
surface of the crystal . The glossy is better if the particle
size of crystal is bigger than 50µm, mainly used as
antirust pigment and better metallic flash coating.

Iron oxide pigment red powder widely used in antirust
coating as its physical feature to stop moisture in the air
infiltrating metal surface and to add compactness and
mechanical strength.
Application of iron oxide pigment red powder:
Construction
Color cement, color floor tile, color cement tile,
imitation of glazed tile, concrete block, color mortar,
color pitch, terrazzo, mosaic tile, Manu-marble and
coating for wall etc.
Colorant and protection in coating
Including water based coating for powder and
wall indoor and outdoor, not only oil based primer
and finish paint like epoxy, alcohol acid and amidogen
etc., but also paint for toy, decoration, furniture and
enamel paint etc.
Replace red lead in antirust to save non-ferrous metal
and money.
Colorant in plastics
Like colorant for rubber and thermoplastic &
thermosetting plastic.

Yellow:
FeOOH
Feature of iron oxide pigment yellow powder is widely used
in construction and second only to red in volume.
Except for the heat stability of iron oxide pigment yellow
powder is poor; other property is more or less with red.
It will change to red hue on condition that water losing
under heat of 135-177 centigrade degree, it turns into iron
oxide red powder if the temperature is over 270-300
centigrade degree.
So please do not used in coating which needs
high-temperature to dry.
Wally Pale tone, bright and brilliant gloss of yellow ochre
use widely and generally in construction.

Iron oxide pigment yellow is superior to yellow chrome in
terms of light and alkali resistance. Thus, iron oxide yellow
pigment is suggested in construction to replace expensive

Transparent yellow iron oxide pigment is one of best
pigment.

reflectivity so that target will not be detected by
infrared camera in air.
Note:
Heat resistance and stability of Iron oxide pigment black,
brown or yellow is not good enough to red:
Red can stand at 200°C,
135°C for yellow
100°C for black
130°C for brown
Please notice this tip when applied in practice.
These colors of iron oxide pigment might turn into another
color or change the attributes if temperature is over the
limit.
Orange iron oxide pigment
It’s mixed by iron oxide pigment yellow and red.
Mainly and widely used in prefabricated concrete.
Other feature is similar with brown.
Green iron oxide pigment
One compound color of iron oxide pigment yellow and
phthalocyanine blue.
Stable chemical feature

Green iron oxide pigment performs well in cement to
replace green chrome.
Blue iron oxide pigment

Acid and oil resistant, but no alkali resistance.

Iron oxide may bring early aging in polymer cause its
activity of some catalysis, please envelop the surface of iron
oxide pigment powder by aluminum oxide, silica oxide or
organ silicon to decrease its activity when put into use in
plastics.
Both Iron oxide pigment and phthalocyanine blue have
antioxygenation, so you have to control the volume used in
plastics.
The common proportion of used iron oxide pigment
powder compared to weight of cement is 4-8%, 5% is best
suggested. (roughly showed in following page)
Meanwhile, no content of compound of aluminum or zinc,
or the strength and set time of the concrete will be affected.
Do not make iron oxide pigment expose to sulfide to avoid
color changed or turn.

and painting.
