Leaf Hunt- Challenge students to find as many unique leaves as they can in
a given area and given period of time. Students can work individually, in
pairs, or in teams.
Leaf Rubbings- Students find leaves, then place them under a sheet of
paper and gently color the whole area of paper that the leaf is under. It will
leave an impression of the entire leaf on the paper.
Leaf Color Relay- Set up the relay with 3 bags at one end of the play area
labeled with leaf colors (red, green, orange). Split students up into teams,
and have a bag of various leaves at one end. Each student draws a leaf then
runs to the opposite end and places it in the correct bag, returning to their
team and sending the next student off. The team to have all players run and
return first wins.
