Sparsely and densely populated areas
Whether a place becomes densely or
sparsely populated can be affected by
different factors.
Physical geography. This relates
to patterns that exist within the
natural environment as opposed to
man-made features, e.g. climate.
Human geography. This relates
to features of man’s interaction
with the environment, e.g.
economic and social change.
Both factors have a major impact on the
population density of an area.
