March 19 Bowl-athon: Now that we have two teams organized for

This weekend's events:
The Women's Circle will meet this Saturday, March 12th from 1-3. In honor of Women's
History month we will discuss the many issues facing women. In order to do our part for the
women still not getting equal pay for equal work, we will do letter writing to the
representatives in our districts. Please feel free to join us.
On March 12, 2016 at 3 pm, at the Hughes Library, Stroudsburg, the Unity Coalition of the Poconos and the
Monroe County Clergy Association will co-sponsor a symposium, Addressing Gun Violence in Our Own
Backyard." Featured Speaker: Linda Kozic, who was shot and seriously injured in a shooting at a Ross
Township meeting that took the life of her husband and two others. Her story is an urgent reminder that mass
shootings and gun violence happen right here in Monroe County. The event flyer with additional details is
attached to this email.
If you would like to sign up to be a part of a delegation to visit your PA assembly member or state senator in
their local offices to make them aware of the need for background checks and strong gun legislation, Cindy
Crowner will be signing up UUFP members and friends at the Fellowship in the next two weeks.
On Sunday, March 13, at 10 am, Rev. Cindy Crowner, UUFP Friend, will lead a Discussion Sunday. The
women's history service previously scheduled has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
Upcoming events:
March 19 Bowl-athon: Now that we have two teams organized for the Big Brothers Big
Sisters Bowl for Kids' Sake, we need sponsors. The more sponsors, the more money
our adult and children's teams will raise and the more we will help this agency do its
good work of mentoring children. Please see Bob Wahl to support the adult team,
Cynthia Miller for the kids' team. Let's see if we can beat last year's fundraising!

in this festive performance. Please see Gloria Finch if you would like to be a part of this wonderful event. A

The book shelves in the social room are EMPTY. Please feel free to bring in your books and put them on the
shelves. Please do not bring in any magazines or outdated textbooks. Also - only books in good
condition. We have collected $37.50 from the sale of books during January and part of February. Thanks to all
that help in this endeavor.
So far there are 2 women signed up for Mah Jongg with Elayne Eskenazi. Elayne would
like to get at least 1 more person to join us, 4 is an ideal number. The group will probably
start late March or early April on a Tuesday afternoon from about 1-3. Please contact
Elayne at [email protected] if you are interested.
Thanks for taking the time to catch up with UUFP!
