Lose To Win® (Individual) is a 12-week holistic weight management programme to shape up through exercise, nutrition and positive mental wellbeing. It targets individuals aged 18-64 who want to attain a healthier weight. This programme encourages you to stay fit and healthy the right way! This is accomplished through self-monitoring via the Healthy 365 mobile app for your step count, food and weight log, and active participation in Health Promotion Board (HPB), ActiveSG and Sports Hub physical activity programmes, over 12 weeks. 2 How does this season differ from prior seasons? Unlike prior seasons’ structured 8 week programmes, this season is based around flexibility and the Healthy 365 mobile app. The aim is to create a routine around exercising regularly and eating healthily through the participant’s own effort in hopes that the habit will stick. 3 Who can sign up for Lose To Win® (Individual)? Singaporeans and PRs aged 18 to 64 at the point of registration. Parental consent is required for participants under 21. Participants must meet this BMI criterion: BMI (kg/m2) 25 - 37.4 o BMI values do not apply to children, pregnant women, individuals with muscular build (e.g. athletes & body builders) or elderly. o Programme is designed for the above BMI range, clinical medical intervention may be required for those with BMI above 37.4 Able to perform moderate-intensity physical activity No heart disease, history of heart disease, heart attack or stroke Pregnant women are not eligible to join Past Lose To Win® participants can join the new programme cycle (Note: Participants can only join Lose to Win® once every 12 months) All participants of Lose To Win® (Individual) must be a registered participant of the National Steps Challenge™ Season 2. 4 When does Lose To Win® (Individual) start? Lose To Win® is open for registration from 30th September to 31st December 2016. The programme will start the day you register for Lose To Win®. 5 How long is the Lose To Win® programme? 12 weeks (84 days) starting from day of registration. 6 How do I count the weeks of the Lose To Win®? The first day of the week starts on the day of registration. (E.g. 4th October 2016, Tuesday) Hence, the next consecutive 11 Tuesdays will be the start of a new week. Example: If you sign up on the 4th of October, Tuesday will be the start of your Week 1. Week 2 will start on the 11th of October. 20th December will be the start of Week 12. Your programme will end on the 26th of December. 7 Where can I sign up for Lose To Win®? Join us at the following Healthy Lifestyle Festival SG Roadshows! You must be a registered participant of the National Steps ChallengeTM Season 2 before you can register for this programme. Before sign up, a weigh-in will be administered on the spot to determine eligibility. If the candidate is eligible and willing, we will help you to sign up via the Healthy 365 mobile app on your smartphone. If you do not have a smartphone, we will sign you up with our iPad (See no. 11) 9 How does Lose To Win® (Individual) work? Lose To Win® is a flexible 12-week programme where individuals will be incentivised to complete several components. There are 3 main components to complete. Clock steps to maintain the necessary average step count. The mechanism for tracking of steps will be the same for Lose To Win® and the National Steps ChallengeTM but the average step count for Lose to Win® will be counted only for the 12 weeks of each individual’s Lose to Win® programme. The steps must be synced to your Healthy 365 mobile app profile. Register and attend Physical Activity Programmes (HPB/ActiveSG/Sports Hub) as well as 1 nutrition/physical activity workshop. You can also have a workout at ActiveSG gyms, pools and running track! Attendance must be taken via QR codes at all the different sites. (Manual attendance will only be taken at selected sites for non-smartphone participants) Complete a weight log, food log, and a weigh-out at HPB. 10 What are the rewards for Lose To Win®? Note, only HPB/ActiveSG and certain Sports Hubs programmes together 3 In 6, 7, 8 or 9 weeks out of 12, I have attended at least one physical activity session a week. $5 grocery voucher OR OR In 10, 11 or 12 weeks out of 12, I have attended at least one physical activity session a week. $10 grocery voucher I have: I can win Recorded and updated my weight on the Healthy 365 mobile app Profile page on Weeks 1, 6 and 12 $5 grocery voucher with ActiveSG facilities are valid for attendance. All logs must be recorded in Healthy 365 mobile app. AND Recorded a food log in the Healthy365 mobile app on any 7 days throughout the 12 weeks 4 I have lost at least 1 kg (or more). I can win $5 grocery voucher Weight loss will be determined as difference between weigh-in during registration and weigh-out in HPB. I can WIN up to $30 in grocery vouchers! (terms and conditions apply) Note that in the first two sections, you can only win either $5 or $10 if you meet the criteria. 11 What if I do not have a smartphone or my smartphone is not compatible? Can I still join Lose to Win®? Yes, you can still join Lose To Win® as a kiosk participant if you are eligible. You can still earn rewards of up to $30 of grocery vouchers. NON-SMARTPHONE PARTICIPANTS RULES AND REGULATIONS Kiosk participants can only take part and track their steps using the HPB-issued steps tracker. Syncing of your steps tracker must be done at designated Healthy 365 Kiosks in partners’ retail outlets or via the sync for friends function. (View the list of participating Guardian and SPORTSLINK retail outlets here). Kiosk participants can only earn Section 2 rewards by participating in selected physical activity sessions where manual attendance can be taken. See the following list: 1. Please check back for updates. Note: Other physical activity sessions will not have manual attendance taking. Attendance taking will be via QR codes only. As for food log for kiosk participants, you will have to send us an email ([email protected]) with your name, NRIC and the entry. No backdating is allowed, so food log must be submitted daily for any 7 day. Weight log must be done via updating of weight in the HPB kiosks in Week 6 and 12. 12 Can I attend multiple Physical Activity sessions in a week to accumulate the required attendance for the rewards? You must attend at least 1 session of Physical activity programmes per week for at least 6 weeks (any 6 out of the 12 weeks) to qualify for Section 2’s $5 reward. Multiple sessions within the same week will still only count as fulfilment of 1 week of the requirement. Participants are encouraged to develop a consistent and sustainable routine of exercising. 13 What if I do more than the requirements? Will I qualify for more rewards? We encourage participants to attend more than the required number of sessions per week. However, there will be no additional rewards given. 14 What must I do to complete the Lose To Win® You must weigh-out at the end of your 12-week programme. Reminders may be sent to remind you about your weigh out. You will have 1 month to personally come down to HPB (with valid NRIC) to weigh-out and rewards (if any) are collectible upon weigh out. Note that if you fail to weigh-out within 1 month of the notification, we reserve the right to consider your programme incomplete and withhold any rewards. 15 Where do I weigh-out at the end of Lose To Win®? Health Promotion Board Participants must weigh-out in person with valid NRIC. 16 When do I claim the rewards for Lose To Win®? Any rewards will be issued after weigh-out. 17 Will I get a tracker for signing up? Lose to Win® does not provide participants with steps trackers. Only participants of the National Steps Challenge™ who have never collected a step tracker may be eligible for a tracker. To find out if you are eligible for a free steps tracker, please visit http://www.stepschallenge.sg 18 Do I have to use the HPB issued steps tracker?. No, you can use your preferred tracking mode as long as it is compatible with the Healthy 365 mobile app. Participants may participate in Lose to Win® and track their steps using the following trackers or mobile applications (compatible with the Healthy 365 app): HPB steps tracker Preferred apps and trackers o S Health* app with Samsung GearFit 2 o Lifelog app with Sony SmartWatch 3 o Actxa app with Actxa Swift Other apps and trackers o HealthKit* app with Apple Watch o Fitbit *S Health (Android): Android 4.4 and above; HealthKit (iOS): iPhone 5S and above, with iOS 8 and above 19 How do I track my step count? Sync your steps tracker (or other approved trackers) to the Healthy 365 mobile app and your steps will be reflected in the app. Your average daily step count for Lose to Win® will be reflected in the Lose to Win® challenge page. Note that only steps accumulated in the 12 weeks of the programme will be counted as part of the steps requirement. Please note that the HPB steps tracker can only store up to 7 days of data and you will need to sync your HPB steps tracker with the Healthy 365 mobile app via Bluetooth™ at least once every 7 days. If you do not have a smartphone, you will need to sync your steps at the designated Healthy 365 Kiosks or use the Sync for friends function. 20 How do I track my average step count for Lose to Win®? It will be reflected in the “Challenges” tab under “Lose to Win®”. Note that only steps accumulated in the 12 weeks of the programme will be counted as part of the steps requirement. If you happen to sign up late in the day for the programme, your first day step count may not meet the daily requirement, but fret not, there are still 83 days left to make up the average! 21 How do I record my food diary? Tap on the Diet Journal tab on the Healthy 365 mobile app. (click here for a step by step guide to recording your food diary) 22 Is there a weekly quota for Food Log like there is for Physical Activity Sessions? For this component of the programme, there is no weekly quota set. You may choose at your own discretion whether to enter seven consecutive days of Food Logs or spread them out over the programme. However, you must update all of your meals of the day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks) in order for the day to be counted as part of the minimum 7 day requirement. HPB reserves the right to reject any days which may be deemed incomplete. 23 How do I complete my weight log? You can update your weight through the Healthy 365 mobile app. Select Profile and change your weight on your profile. You may check your history on the History tab. 24 What do I have to do to fulfil Section 2 of the rewards (Physical activity attendance and Workshop attendance)? You can attend any physical activity sessions under HPB/ActiveSG/SportSG/Sports Hub (e.g. Sundays @ the Park, Fitness@Work, Sunrise in the City, Mall Aerobics), or make use of ActiveSG facilities (swimming pools, gyms or stadiums). By exercising at least once a week, you can fulfil the minimum for the week. Just do it for at least 6 out of 12 weeks and you can earn $5 in grocery vouchers. You will also need to attend 1 workshop (Physical Activity or Nutrition) at HPB. Please remember that you must take your attendance via QR codes! Illustration: If your programme starts on a Tuesday, from Tuesdays to Mondays you will have to attend at least 1 physical activity session for you to complete the minimum for the Week. 25 How do I take attendance for the programmes/workshops/gyms/pools? Inform the staff during registration that you are a Lose To Win® participant and the staff will help to register your attendance via QR code. For ActiveSG pools, gyms and running tracks, look out for the QR codes that will be posted near the entrance of the facilities. Responsibility for scanning the QR code lies with the participants so make sure you remember to bring your smartphone and scan! Tap here to scan QR code Ensure that you see this message when scanning the QR code 26 How do I track my attendance using the Healthy365 mobile app? Your attendance for the programmes, workshops, gyms and pools will be reflected in the Healthy 365 mobile app. Once scanned, facilities and events should show up here 27 What Physical Activity Programmes can I sign up for? There are over 300 possible physical activity programmes in a week that you can sign up for. Refer to no. 28 for the list of HPB programmes, Sports Hub programmes and ActiveSG programmes. Note that exercising at the ActiveSG gyms and pools will also be counted towards the once a week requirement (see here for the list of facilities under ActiveSG) You may also browse the app for various events and facilities near you. However, you will not be able to book through this app. You will have to go to their respective websites to do so. Enable location services in order to use Nearby Choose from a list of Events, Eateries, Facilities and Routes Short description of event date and time. Scroll down to show the address and fee if applicable 28 Where can I sign-up for the Physical Activity programmes? Register for HPB programmes here. Register for Sports Hub Programmes here. Register for ActiveSG programmes here. 29 How do I register for the HPB Physical Activity programmes? Step 1: Go to http://www.healthhub.sg/programmes/34/get-active Choose the activity you want to participate in and click Join Now. Step 2: Select your dates and timings from the schedule and proceed to register. Bear in mind, there are a variety of activities and locations so be sure to choose the one you want. Step 3: Double check the activities that you have chosen and click the register button. Step 4: Create a HPB account if you not done so. You can also use SingPass to log-in. Step 5: Enter your details and create account Step 5: Fill out a survey, check the I Agree box and click Proceed. Step 6: Check the event dates, timings, location and activity. Click Submit to confirm your registration. 30 How do I register for the Nutrition or Physical Activity Workshops? Register here. Registration process is similar to above.
