Why Join Ridgefield High School JV
Tennis?
One could benefit from participating in the
JV tennis program by enjoying competitive tennis
matches against bordering towns teams. Also, you
will meet people and make new friends of whom
you will share many interests. Not to mention it is
more “laid back” than varsity sports, which
eliminates the stress factor.
What JV Tennis is All About
• The purpose of JV tennis is to provide
students with the opportunity to grow and
learn as a tennis player. This is done by having
many practices and team matches against
other teams. There are home and away
matches. Throughout the season players bond
and form strong relationships that can
continue the rest of their High School career.
How to Join
An athletic form is available online, or in the
Student Life Office. This is due to be handed
in to that same office by March 4th. The coach
for the team is Billie Woodel. A fee of $225.00
is required in order to participate.
Membership Requirements
• The practices will be at the tennis courts by
Yanity Gym.
• Players must wear team tennis shirt to
matches and always wear athletic shorts to
practices as well as matches.
• There is no attendance policy

Miscellaneous Information
For away games players will take a bus to
the other town, which leaves at 2:30. Each
player must supply snacks to at least one match.
At the end of the season a team “get-together”
will be held with pizza and snacks.
