Quality range balls are provided for the program. ABOUT THE 2017 JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM The JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM at Western Lakes for 2017 will be divided into 2 (two) programs: Program I Program II Grades 3 thru 10 Grades 1 thru 4 During the instruction/practice time of the program, students will rotate thru 5 (five) stations: Driver/Woods, Irons/Hybrid, Pitching, Chipping/Bunker, Putting and Rules/Etiquette (taught throughout each group) Students will be placed together in small groups (5-7 students) of like age/ability and receive instruction in each golf area every week. This structured instruction will allow each student to maximize building their golf skills and provide more personalized instruction. Time on the golf course will be divided between actual play, structured instructional segments, and on course demonstrations by golf staff which will allow instructors to teach concepts and cover parts of the golf game more comprehensively than in the past. As always, student's age/ability will determine golf course content and group formations. This year our goal is to focus more on instruction, increased practice time at the various stations, present new ideas and concepts not previously emphasized, and although this may decrease the actual time on the golf course, it will allow for maximum retention of skills taught each session. 2017 JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM SCHEDULE Grade Program Group Day 3-10 1-4 3-10 1-4 3-10 1-4 3-10 3-10 1-4 I II I II I II I I II A B C D E F G H I Mon Mon Tues Tues Wed Wed Fri Sun Sun Time 7:30am-11:00am 12:30pm-2:30pm 7:30am-11 :00am 12:30pm-2:30pm 7:30am-11:00am 12:30pm-2:30pm 4:00pm-7:30pm 4:00pm-7:30pm 5:30pm-7:30pm Dates June 12, 19, 26 June 12, 19, 26 June 13, 20, 27 June 13, 20, 27 June 21, 28, June 14, 21, 28 June 16,23 June 11,25 June 11,25 Rain Date July 10, 17, 24, 31 July 10, 17, 24, 31 July 11, 18, 25, Aug 1 July 11, 18, 25, Aug 1 July 12, 19, 26, Aug 2, 9 July 12, 19, 26, Aug 2 July 7, 14, 21, 28, Aug 4 July 9, 16, 23, 30, Aug 6 July 9, 16, 23, 30, Aug 6 August 7 August 7 August 8 August 8 August 16 August 9 August 11 August 13 August 13 Junior golfers do not require parental guidance on the golf course but parents are welcome to accompany their junior golfer.
