Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre Grade 7 Curriculum: Interactions within Ecosystems 7 Conception Bay Highway, CBS 709-834-2099 ext. 203 or 709-693-7180 (cell) [email protected] River Adventures – Gr. 7 – Interactions within Ecosystems This River Adventure takes place both in the Interpretation Centre and along the river trail. The Adventure takes place in two components. On a guided downstream hike, students will learn about the local ecosystems and focus on both the differences and interactions between biotic and abiotic factors. They will observe the natural environment and complete a scavenger hunt. The second component of the adventure takes place closer to the Interpretation Centre. While learning about food webs and the nutrients cycles, students will participate in a re-enactment of a food web and become components of the cycle in order to experience the food web first hand. Should the weather not be ideal, the program will be adapted and take place entirely in the Interpretation Centre. Max Group Size- 60 student Class Fee - $5.50 per student Duration - 2.5 hours Programming is usually offered Monday through Friday mornings, year-round. At a minimal additional charge, half day program can be extended to a full day to include an exhibit tour, movie and/or additional programming.
