Kirk Balk Academy – Ski Trip – Feb/March 2017
Over the past year the Physical Education Department has been conducting feasibility
studies into the potential of running an Academy Ski holiday and it is with this in mind that I
am writing to you.
The intention is to offer a skiing experience for our students to Sestriere, Italy on February
25th to March 3rd 2017 and we are confident that it will be an exciting and truly memorable
experience for all involved. The resort itself in an Olympic ski venue with over 440km of ski
slopes available in both Italy and France.
We are working hard to negotiate the best possible price but will not compromise on the
premium experience that we would like our students to benefit from. The full price of the trip,
including professional ski instruction, lift passes, full board accommodation, evening
activities, food and all travel including flights is likely to cost around £900. We would initially
require a deposit of £300 to confirm your child’s place with the airline company.
In order for this trip to run we would need a minimum of 40 students to sign up. Therefore, I
would be grateful if you could return the attached reply slip to main reception by Thursday
22nd September to signal your firm interest in the trip for your son or daughter.
Please note that there is no requirement for your child to already be able to ski. All students
would be in Ski School irrespective of their ability, with students being grouped accordingly
from advanced skiers to complete beginners, making the experience fully accessible to all.
