2017 POSITION STATEMENT
ACTJRU Representative Team – HEAD COACH
Responsible to: Secretary ACTJRU
Responsible for:
 The overall performance of the team including, but not limited to:
o Training preparation and plans
o Development and implementation of game plans
o Playing patterns and technical/tactical guidelines
o Skill evaluation and remediation
o Individual player performance feedback
o Management of all Coaching Staff and Support Staff
 The Selection Policy and Procedures
 Chairman of Squad and Team selection panel and co-ordination of the scouting, trial games and
viewing programmes
 A Coaching Strategy
 A Player Development Programme and Player Assessments
 Assist the ACTJRU Executive with the development of a Representative Game Programme
 Liaison with Club and School coaching staff and Player parents
 Conduct of management and team meetings on logistical, operational and team matters
 Communication with ACTJRU Executive and Council as required
 Making recommendations for support staff appointments and staff evaluation
 Attend and/or participate in:
o SmartRugby Programme
o Advanced Coaching Seminars, as required
o Coach Education Seminars, as required
o Brumbies Academy Coach and field training sessions, as required
 Ensuring the highest standards of behaviour and sportsmanship ethics by the team
 Provision of a Final Report to the ACTJRU

Registered and current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card holder?
SmartRugby Accreditation
Level I Coaching Accreditation
Level II Coaching Accreditation
ARU Rugby Learning Centre Qualifications/Accreditations and/or Certification
World Rugby - Medical Requirements for Player care Level 1 Accreditation
Provide First Aid (Sport Medicine Australia) Accreditation
Asthma and/or Anaphylaxis (First Aid) Accreditation
