Junior Conference Producer

Junior Conference Producer
Job Profile:
An exciting opportunity for an ambitious, commercially-astute, driven individual keen to succeed in the fast-paced world of
conference production.
Whilst experience in conference production isn’t required, applicants should have some commercial experience, ideally gained
within a sales or market research environment.
The role of a conference producer isn’t anything to do with event management or logistics; instead, the conference producer is
responsible for researching and producing the content of each conference and for recruiting best-in-class speaker
programmes, whilst also understanding the commercial angles of the conference to deliver comprehensive briefings to the
Sales & Marketing teams.
To be considered for this role, you should have a good degree and some commercial experience. You should also be happy
spending much of your working day on the phone and in speaking to senior executives and government figures. You also need
to be interested in business and able to use your own initiative.
The role includes the following:
Programme and Content Development

Complete extensive, in-depth research with the target market – predominantly on the phone; translate market
research into a compelling, commercially viable conference programme; select, invite and confirm high-level and
expert speakers.
Marketing

Create a marketing brief detailing the target market, potential marketing partners and data sources; write all copy for
the event websites, brochures, email campaigns and any other marketing campaigns and work with the Marketing
Manager to develop communities online that can be utilised to promote events on an ongoing basis.
Sales

Carry out research with prospective sponsors to build a full understanding of the solutions available in each industry
and to identify what the critical factors that will drive companies to sponsor are; create and deliver detailed sales
briefs for both the Sponsorship and Delegate Acquisition Executives to enable them to sell the events effectively.
Operations and Customer Service

Work closely with the Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure the expectations of all speakers, delegates
and sponsors are met.
Project Management

Take on a central role within the cross-functional project team to ensure that every element of the event is successful.
Reporting Line
All Conference Producers report directly to the Head of Production.
Career Progression
Junior Conference Producers will complete a minimum of one year of successful training and development before progressing
to the more autonomous role of Conference Producer.
