(a) Explain to your counselor the most likely hazards you may encounter while playing sports (b) Show that you know first aid for injuries or illnesses that could occur while participating in sports. 2. (a) The importance of the physical exam (b) The importance of maintaining good health habits for life (such as exercising regularly), and how the use of tobacco products, alcohol, and other harmful substances can negatively affect your health and your performance in sports activities (c) The importance of maintaining a healthy diet 3. Discuss the following: (a) The importance of warming up and cooling down (b) The importance of weight training (c) What an amateur athlete is and the differences between an amateur and a professional athlete (d) The attributes (qualities) of a good sport, the importance of sportsmanship, and the traits of a good team Leader 4. Participate in Nike 3on3 Skills Clinic (a)Created chart that tracked training & development. (b)Demonstrate proper technique for basketball (c) At the end of clinic discuss how your participation in Skills clinic affected you physically & mentally. Wolf Requirements (Paws of Skill) -Talk about what it means to be physically fit & what you can do to stay in shape. -Talk about & demonstrate proper warm-up movements & stretching techniques. -Talk about what it means to be a member of a team and play basketball for 30 minutes. -Talk about sportsmanship & what it means to be a good sport. -Visited Nike 3on3 Slam Dunk Contest & Tournament -Ran obstacle course with 5 different movements 2.
