AT RIMINI FIERA OVER 25,000 VISITORS

The entire chain united at Southern Europe’s leading appointment for the professionals of legal
gaming.
Rimini, 18th March 2016 – An edition of ENADA SPRING (the 28th) ended today at Rimini Fiera under the
banner of a balance between considerations regarding regulations – increasingly confused and penalizing for
enterprises, employment and the induced revenue of the game and gaming world – and the trade’s desire to
assert the quality if its work.
ENADA SPRING highlighted an important image of the gaming chain, which reacted showing it was compactly
united to claim the legal context in which it operates, communicating the concrete commitments adopted also
to fight the phenomena of abuse, countering prejudices with the contents of a lively spectacular expo.
Exhibiting firms bore witness to the value of participating in ENADA turning out with high impact stands:
spectacular set-up as far dimensions, design, innovation and multimedia were concerned.
Organized by Rimini Fiera and SAPAR with the support of Euromat, the International Amusement & Gaming
Machine Show was inaugurated on 16th March by the chairmen of SAPAR and Rimini Fiera, Raffaele Curcio and
Lorenzo Cagnoni, and was attended by over 25,000 trade visitors, confirming its role as Southern Europe’s
leading appointment for professionals in the legal gaming world.
As well as the four expo halls, with the participation of the chain’s key players (licensees, owners/managers,
manufacturers, suppliers of technologies and services), the expo was therefore the opportunity to face the most
topical issues in the course of the conferences it hosted.
Chairman Cagnoni said, “On the expo front, ENADA SPRING chalked up an increase in foreign participation, as far
as both exhibitors and visitors were concerned. The show hosted all the major players, from licensees to service
companies, featuring stands with really high profiles, which had a great overall impact on the visitors.”
For SAPAR chairman Raffaele Curcio, “From ENADA SPRING the legal gaming world communicated its identity
with determination, also claiming the economic role it plays. In particular, from the sector’s trade fair it
relaunched in a compact manner the request to be the direct interlocutor of the legislative assessments and
initiative that regulate it. What is happening – the sector’s key players voiced loudly – is undermining a trade
chain made up of 5,000 enterprises and a workforce of 300,000, which, with revenue of over 84 billion euros,
guarantees the government tax takings of 11.5 billion euros per year.”
Various appointments faced the most topical issues for the game and gaming world, starting with the opening
conference, at which speakers, as well as SAPAR and Rimini Fiera chairmen Raffaele Curcio and Lorenzo Cagnoni,
included psychologist Paolo Crepet and Professor Massimo Morisi of the University of Florence.
Both experts stressed the need to give a precise outline to compulsive gaming, defining it precisely in order that it
is possible to take effective action against it.
Another hot topic was that of the strategies of intervention on amusement arcades and machines without cash
prizes, which lawmakers intend associating with games with cash wins, an initiative believed by trade members to
be incompatible with European Union law.
There was also great interest in the event promoted by Gioco News dedicated to the latest frontiers of online
gaming, along with the new opportunities for the betting sector, which are changing what the Italian gaming
world has to offer, with important results also in points of sales and the retail market. The 2016 Italian Stability
Law foresees for the current year tenders for the betting sector, online gaming and bingo.
Another event on betting was dedicated to the betting shops of the future, with considerations on what the most
important innovations will be, not only for the traditional agencies but also for the corners and for online gaming.
Innovations that can regard the physical aspect, such as furnishing, fitting and decor, or technology, but also the
services, therefore types of bets available, any accessory services, staff training and so on. The conference was
promoted by publisher Toro Edizioni.
At ENADA SPRING there was no lack of sports events either. Rimini Fiera hosted the traditional Spring Pinball
Tournament, a tournament of competitive pinball, promoted by IFPA Italia (the amateur sports association
responsible for the ranking in Italy) and valid for world ranking, in collaboration with Tecnoplay and Stern Pinball,
in partnership with Rimini Fiera and with the sponsorship of the SAPAR National Association and the support of
GiocoNews magazine, the event's Media Partner.
The main tournament was won by Pablo Iacoponi from Pisa. Second place went to Gabriele Tedeschi from Rome
and third to Adriano Zingarini (Perugia). At the prize-giving ceremony, Tecnoplay and SAPAR presented the official
shirt of the Italian National tram that will take part in the 2016 world championship in Pittsburgh, from 12th to 14th
April. The two side tournaments were won by Belgian Joel Wozniak and Padua’s Matteo Filippin. The event was
made even more interesting by the availability of the eagerly awaited pinball machine dedicated to the
Ghostbusters saga, anticipating its upcoming arrival on the market.
Another sports appointment was with the evergreen table soccer. The expo hosted the ENADA Table Football
Doubles Tournament, a game that is experiencing a real revival in Italy, particularly among the younger
generations, to the point of being proposed in numerous schools, with tournaments between classes
and courses teaching the techniques of the game. The tournament was promoted by UISP (Rimini
Committee) and featured 42 teams.
Mattia Tosi and Angelo De Candia from San Mauro Pascoli (Forlì Cesena) won it and thus gained access to the
Italian doubles championship, second place went to Rubi Babini and Alessandro Cai from Faenza (Ravenna) and
third place to Gianluca Jone and Raffaele Asciore from Cesena. The tournament was dedicated to Gianni Greco,
an esteemed table soccer player, who passed away at just 42 years of age on the eve of the event.
