NEISD ATHLETIC MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the North East ISD athletic department is to develop a program of competitive athletics that focuses on enhancing student performance. This program will be designed to be inclusive of all students who have the desire and ability to participate in University Interscholastic League sports that promote individual and team development. STUDENT-ATHLETE ACADEMIC SUCCESS 1. Doing your best both in and out of the classroom is the foundation of being a successful student-athlete Take pride in your work. Seek help when you do not understand. Do not play catch-up with your grades. Grades for 10 courses of the 16 core courses required for NCAA Division I & II Eligibility are locked in at the start of your seventh semester. The minimum core course GPA for D1 is 2.3. STUDENT-ATHLETE ACADEMIC SUCCESS 2. Take advantage of high school credit opportunities in middle school. 3. Seek guidance from your counselor on completing non-traditional courses BEFORE you pay for them.
